🎯 The Office of Agricultural Economics Region 11 (OAE Region 11), led by Ms. Rakchanok Tuywiang, Director of OAE Region 11, conducted field visits to monitor the situation of key agricultural commodities in the area, with details as follows:
🔸 Production and Marketing Situation of Shallots
In Rasi Salai and Yang Chum Noi districts, Sisaket Province, interviews with farmers and traders revealed that shallot production this year is expected to increase compared to last year.
Regarding marketing, approximately 60% of Sisaket shallots are exported, with major export markets being Vietnam and China. Another 20% are exported to Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, while the remaining 15% are consumed domestically.
This year, purchasing centers are buying shallots from farmers at prices of 7–8 baht per kilogram. Currently, the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, has implemented measures to support farmers by stabilizing prices as follows:
• 7–11 January 2026: 11 baht/kg
• 12–16 January 2026: 12 baht/kg
• 17–21 January 2026: 13 baht/kg
🔸 Import–Export Situation at Chong Mek Border Checkpoint, Ubon Ratchathani Province
During the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, the total value of imports and exports through the Chong Mek border checkpoint decreased compared to the previous year.
The top three imported products by value were electric power, Arabica green coffee beans, and cassava (cassava chips).
The top three exported products by value were fuel oil, automobiles (pickup trucks), and boxed milk and other beverages.
🔹 For agricultural products, the top five imports by value were Arabica green coffee beans, cassava (cassava chips), sweet potatoes, fresh cassava roots, and round cabbage.
